Goodfeathers

The Goodfeathers were repeat characters on Animaniacs who were a parody of the three main characters in GoodFellas. This seemed OK at the time but is pretty repetitive in hindsight. They are seen here sharing a skateboard as a Happy Meal toy from 1994. Their left feet appear to push as the deck moves and are run by a fifth wheel in the center of the deck. Their bag billed them as "Goodskate Goodfeathers."

Stacie

This Stacie figure is from a series of Barbie figures that were included with McDonald's Happy Meals in 2000. According to the package this is an Awesome Skateboard™ Stacie™ Figurine. I'm not sure how you can trademark the term "awesome skateboard" but McDonald's apparently did or at least tried. This is a pretty cheaply made figure with an outdated board but she is actually in a fairly realistic pose.

TheO

This radical pasta is featured on a SpaghettiOs bowl that is just about the right size to hold a full can. He doesn't have enough of a head to wear a helmet but he still rocks the knee and elbow pads. I never knew this dude had a name but after seeing TheO printed near his front foot a quick internet search confirmed it. Apparently he is the third SpaghettiOs mascot after the Wizard of O's (who is a badass pasta saucerer) and Mr. O (who is a muppet). I personally prefer my SpaghettiOs with sliced franks and would've preferred to see a skateboarding hot dog as well.

Surf & Turf Nerds

Surf & Turf Nerds feature a surf flavor (totally tropical punch) and a turf flavor (road rash raspberry) as well as a silhouette of a skater and surfer. I would've much rather have seen the Nerds themselves skating and surfing. Nerds were previously featured here on BPA as a skating figure/container.

Don't Be Mistaken

Agression's Don't Be Mistaken LP (Better Youth Organization 1983) was the first skate punk album I heard or saw, which is why it is being featured for post #100. Before that I had heard a fair amount of punk albums, some with occasional skate references, but I had not seen a blatant declaration by a band that they were skaters until I saw Don't Be Mistaken. The cover features a photo of Arthur Lake taken by Glen E. Friedman. The back features a drawing of the band by Jaime Hernandez with a couple decks in the background. The album itself features a great skating song called "Intense Energy," as well as some beach tunes such as "Locals Only."

Fisher Price Little People

The Fisher Price Little People skateboard came with only 1 set - the Little People School which was manufactured from 1988 to 1990. The 1990 version omitted the skateboard (knowing vert was dead by that point and street skating still had a couple years to really take off). This kid is not one of figures that came with the school (although he is not far off one of them). He is rocking the flipped up cap and has a strange looking unibrow and some freckles. Even though the Little People have no feet they still went to the trouble to grip this deck.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Surprisingly, Sonic is not the first skateboarding hedgehog to appear hear at BPA (that honor goes to Russell Ferguson). Sonic is here in golden figure form from 1993. These were prizes inside Cookie Crisp cereal boxes and came in blue and gold. Even though this is a 3 dimensional figure it is fairly flat (more like a bas-relief than an actual figure).

Edit: Found the blue variant:

Social Sickness

Social Sickness was a skate punk band from California during the late 00s. This 7" EP was released in 2008 on Flat Black Records (who released a number of skate punk 7"s including the Gross Negligence EP). This cover has a great 80s feel to it - not just the shape of the deck but also the notebook doodle feel and of course the barfing zombie. The EP itself is pretty raging - it comes off as a sped up version of early DC hardcore. It's a little hard to see but the dude on the top left of the back cover is definitely riding a Zorlac Big Boys deck.

Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald skates with an absolutely ridiculous stance. This figure is from 1999 and he looks more like he is practicing some form of martial arts rather than skating here. To go along with his style he is riding a comically thick skateboard. You would think that it would house some windup or rev-up mechanism but that is not the case. The wheels are free spinning.

Harry Balzagna & the Teenie Weenies

I found this 7" in the used bin at CSR. I cannot pass on a cheap 7" of an unknown band with a skate cover so of course I picked it up (the owner knows this and I think he tucks some away in the older used bins so I go through everything). Anywho, this is a pretty sweet graphic - I seem to remember this being used for an old Skull Skates ad but I couldn't find it. The band is from Costa Mesa, CA and this EP is from 2003. The band is fast, straight forward punk with lyrics about skating, friends and farting.
