Banana Thrasher

 Banana Thrasher, a mall-grabbing gorilla, is from Tokidoki's Tokimondo Series 2 released in 2022. This is the first mall grab figure I've come across, but made a mall grab tag in case more come up. It's also the first gorilla figure although there were a set of gorilla pogs features here (also not sure what the Grapple is) 

Healthy Besties Chick Peas

This can of chick peas on a leaf skateboard is part of Tokidoki's "Healthy Besties" set from 2023. This is the first non-Smurf on a leaf skateboard to be featured here on BPA.

Baby On Skateboard

A baby on a skateboard as part of a gachapon (Japanese capsule machines) set that features a wide variety of animals, dinosaurs, and 3 human babies (only 1 figure on a skateboard though). His board says "Street Life." Mostly likely from sometime in the 2020s.

 

Skateboard Animals 01

These 4 animals on skateboards are a Japanese vending machine (gachapon) set. This is the first set (released in 2022), followed by at least one more (featuring blue highlights instead of orange).

 

Smile N'Oink

Another Dollar Store find - Smile N'Oink from the Waggles toyline which apparently has 5 other figures as well as a few small playsets. I found this in 2023 which I'm assuming is when he is from. The back describes Giggleland where the Waggles live, a sort of utopia where everyone gets along.

 

Pluto IV

Pluto returns for his 4th appearance. This is a dollar store find in 2022 and is part of small set which incudes 2 Mickeys, Minnie, & Donald; although Pluto is the only one skating.

 

Molly My Childhood

Molly My Childhood X Pop Mart 2021 skateboarding figure titled "Never Gave Up." Pop Mart seems to be coming out with a ton of figures from different series that include a skateboarder. They probably won't all make it here but I'll post 'em if I get 'em.

 

Hamtaro

Stan from Hamtaro, a manga/anime. This is a Bandai blind bag figure from 2021.

 

Phinneas

Phinneas from Boo Hollow. This is from series 3 of the Paka Paka surprise capsules from Funko released in 2022. There is also a full-size Funko Pop figure that is nearly identical (except larger). Check out that tombstone skateboard shape!

Phinneas is not the first werewolf to be featured on BPA - check out the Universal Monsters figures.

Max Mayfield II

Max Mayfield from Stranger Things returns with this Upside Down capsule toy from YuMe toys released in 2022.

Max's original appearance was as a Funko Pop figure.

 

Pikachu III

Pikachu returns for his 3rd appearance, this time fully poochied out in a move reminiscent of '90s Looney Tunes shirts. I don't think this is officially licensed - a bunch of these showed up in 2023 so I'm guessing that's when it is from. 

Pikachu's earlier appearances were as a figure and a pin.

 

Super Garfield

This super Garfield is from the Day Dream blind box set from Pop Mart released in 2022. Check the Garfield label for a ton more Garfields.

 

Demons et Merveilles Skarla figure

This figure was made fairly recently, probably this decade and is still available although a bit pricey. He's fairly realistic, or at least more than the average figure. He comes in 2 color schemes.

 

Tiger Nation Sk8tr

 Sk8tr for Tokidoki's Tiger Nation series 12 released in 2020. 

Freddy Funko

Freddy Funko 2021 "Skater Freddy" figure. This is Funko Pop's mascot. When Funko Pop figures first came out I wasn't sure what to make of them. I remember being in an Urban Outfitters and seeing they had some Simpsons ones in the sale bin. Bart had a skateboard and I thought about picking him up (for a $1) but ultimately decided against it. I don't know why. Now that Bart figure is like $200.

 

Robbie Sinclair

Robbie Sinclair, older brother on the 90s TV show Dinosaurs. There is an older figure of Robbie with skateboard but this is a 2020 Funko Pop figure.

 

Sunny Side

Sunny Side from Tokidoki Breakfast Besties series 2 released in 2021. Eggs, Bacon, and a lil tomato hat - what more do ya want?

Mickey Mouse X

Mickey Mouse returns to BPA for his 10th appearance. This time as a fairly recent figure - from the Disney Junior Mickey mini figure blind capsule series 1, released in 2020. This set featured a variety of characters from the Mickey Mouse clubhouse (which I have been exposed to through my niblings). This was the only skating figure though.

 

Grizz

Grizz from the Cartoon Network show We Bare Bears. I never personally got too into this show although I have watched it on occasion. This figure is a McDonald's Happy Meal toy from 2020 and was an only released overseas.

 

Fisher Price Little People II

Fisher Price Little People skateboarder for team USA competing in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. There are a couple little people skateboarders, but this is the first to be holding his board rather than have a detachable board to ride. These newer ones are much less aesthetically pleasing than the older, more dangerous classic little people.
