Healthy Besties Chick Peas

This can of chick peas on a leaf skateboard is part of Tokidoki's "Healthy Besties" set from 2023. This is the first non-Smurf on a leaf skateboard to be featured here on BPA.

Fry Person

Not much info on this guy. Made in 2017 by the Yong Chang Toys Factory. His board says "Let Go!" and "So So!"

 

Best Spuds

Best Spuds are 2 skating potatoes from the Oh! My Gif season 1 blind box series released in 2019. There is a 5th wheel on the bottom that turns a gear which makes the lead spud push and the 2nd spud hold on.

Nathan's Extreme Bendy

Here at BPA we go the extra mile to track down every skateboarding hot dog figure. Just when I think I have them all another pops up. This frank is from Nathan's and is from a 2004 set called "Extreme Bendies" that also featured a blader, surfer, and biker. He's fully padded up with an oversized bike helmet.

Yellow M&M III

Yellow M&M returns for his 3rd appearance, this time grabbing stinkbug. This is a European topper from 2006 (I think). Previous M&M appearances: Green, Red, Yellow, Yellow II, Blue, Blue II.

Blue M&M II

Blue returns for his 2nd appearance, this time as a top of a gumball style dispenser from 2011. His previous appearance was him holding his board, but he's riding this time and doing a manual or possibly catching some air. He's once again wearing sunglasses so you know he's cool.

Boarder Frank II

The Boarder Frank returns, in bendy form. Once again, he's part of a set called Fantastic Franks from Kid Stuff Marketing. The original version was from 2009. I think this version is 2019. His back foot is connected so he's forever pushing mongo.

Funky Fruit

This figure is from a Munch Bunch Funky Fruit set. It was pretty obvious what fruits all the other figures were but I'm not sure on this one. I guess a raisin or prune? The Munch Bunch book set has a skateboarding black currant but they are definitely more rounded than this dude.

Maguito figure from Sonrics 1990. I believe this is some type of Mexican candy.

Kinderino II

Kinderino's 2nd appearance here on BPA. This dude was a Kinder surprise egg from 2008, part of the Kinderino Sport 1 (that also included a Karate egg and a bungee jumper).

Mr. Potato Head

Mr. Potato Head's debut on BPA comes in the form of this 1998 figure from Burger King. He came with a launcher as well as a launch ramp and landing ramp. This is the same ramp/launcher/skateboard as the Woody Woodpecker figure also from Burger King.

Sibell Chips

Sibell is a French company that make a wide variety of chips. Croquez La Différence! An anthropomorphic bag is seen here pushing and holding its hands in a weird position.

Easter Nerd

The Easter nerd - similar to Nerds Candy's first appearance, but with bunny ears this time. Nerds packaging has also appeared on BPA, in standard and surf & turf.

Kinderino

Kinderino is the name of the anthropomorphic kinder surprise egg. This dude is from the sport set from 2014. He's rocking a sideways hat and giving a buddy-christ like thumbs up. The paper he came with is below and gives some unnecessary instructions on how to assemble him and also includes a postage stamp-like image of him pulling a slob air.

This is the 2nd skateboarding egg to appear on BPA - the first was a beach partying enamel pin.

Sour Beans

Sour Beans, the jelly bean with attitude. I'm not sure if "attitude" refers to sourness, vitamin C, or the sunglasses on the skateboarding jelly bean. I found these in the natural food store (where I also espied the Power Teen vitamins). I actually bought these though and they are actually pretty good. My only question is what are those lines coming out of the skater bean's sunglasses?

Brilliant Skater Dude

Brillant is a Jelly Baby, a Sour Patch Kid like jelly candy from the UK. This dude is way bigger than I originally thought - I was expecting something along the lines of the Yellow M&M Dispensor, but this guy is about 1.5 times bigger (a full 12" tall). When you pull down on his right arm it opens his backpack which allows little kid-sized fingers to grab some candy. 

The box calls him "Skater Dude" and has some fairly detailed instructions for pouring a bag of jellybeans into a container. The back has some instructions on actually skating - a basic definition of regular vs goofy along with manual and shove-its. It gets a bit weird after that - the ollie description wants you to "place both feet on the tail and pop up into the air." The handplant one is basically accurate although it is awkwardly worded. I'm curious to see someone handplant and grab the board with their foot.

I have no year for this dude but judging by the lack of any website info and the use of nollie in the trick section I'm guessing he's probably from the mid-'90s.

Carambar Atomic

A Carambar is a French chewy caramel candy bar. This particular dude is a Carambar Atomic, which I think is like a fireball ("Ca pique un max!" which translates to "Stings to the max!"). This dude is from 1998 and is from a set that also included a basketball playing "cola," a snorkeling "fruits," and a rollerblading "toffy."
