Kiwi Folk Skateboarder

Kiwi Folk were a line of PVC figures produced in the 1980s & sold in New Zealand. This guy is from 1989. He's fully padded up with an unusual helmet and an even more unusual board.

 

Skateboard Acrobat IV

One more entry for the Skateboard Acrobats, a line of bendy figures from the late '70s by Imperial. This rabbit was made in 1979 and has a bit different face than the similar Action Animal rabbit. Previous acrobats include mouse, cat, & dog.

 

Pikachu VI

One more possible bootleg Pikachu from the '90s (presumably). This one is probably my least favorite (check 'em all out below).

Pikachu V

Pikachu returns with a figure from the same series as his last appearance. I was pretty certain these were boots but now I'm not so sure - possibly just low quality in a rush to get merchandise out as fast as possible. Or maybe just a boot.

Skateboard Acrobat III

The Skateboard Acrobat returns, this time in dog form from 1979. We've previously featured a cat and a mouse, and a few very similar "Action Animals" - giraffe, rabbit, & a rather different dog.

Banana Thrasher

 Banana Thrasher, a mall-grabbing gorilla, is from Tokidoki's Tokimondo Series 2 released in 2022. This is the first mall grab figure I've come across, but made a mall grab tag in case more come up. It's also the first gorilla figure although there were a set of gorilla pogs features here (also not sure what the Grapple is) 

Woody Woodpecker's Party Favors

Woody Woodpecker's Party Favors unfortunately do not feature Woody himself skating, but do repackage the previously featured Animal Skate-Board figures. There are the same 3 options: Lion/Tiger, Cat/Dog, Raccoon/Squirrel (or maybe Bear/Squirrel?). These were made by Imperial in 1981.

 

Tony the Tiger III

Tony the Tiger returns for this 3rd appearance. This one is presumably a cereal premium although I don't have any further info.

 

Skateboard Animals 01

These 4 animals on skateboards are a Japanese vending machine (gachapon) set. This is the first set (released in 2022), followed by at least one more (featuring blue highlights instead of orange).

 

Snoopy XVI

Snoopy keeps the hits coming with his 16th solo appearance. No further info on this one. Check the Peanuts tag for more.

 

Goofy IX

Goofy's 9th appearance here and featuring by far his worst style on a board yet. This is part of a set that I originally through was only Mickey and Minnie. A sticker on the bottom shows he was sold at Disney Parks and Resorts in Anaheim, CA. Assuming the set was exclusive to park stores. Makes me wonder who else was part of the set.

 

Alligator

Just an alligator (or crocodile?) pencil topper with no further info. Guessing probably 1990s or 2000s (made in China).

 

Smile N'Oink

Another Dollar Store find - Smile N'Oink from the Waggles toyline which apparently has 5 other figures as well as a few small playsets. I found this in 2023 which I'm assuming is when he is from. The back describes Giggleland where the Waggles live, a sort of utopia where everyone gets along.

 

Pluto IV

Pluto returns for his 4th appearance. This is a dollar store find in 2022 and is part of small set which incudes 2 Mickeys, Minnie, & Donald; although Pluto is the only one skating.

 

Pikachu IV

Pikachu returns for his 4th appearance, this time almost certainly a bootleg from the 90s. See the full package below.

Easter Pet

The 2 Function, Pull & Go Easter Pet Skate Board Bunny figure from 1988. This figure was released by Soma who also made a set of standard figures under the moniker X-Pro Action Deck (one of which has been posted here). There was also a series of Troll dolls riding these same boards. Later, sometime in the 2000s, Soma updated the boards to a more popsicle stick shape and released a new set of figures along with a new Easter bunny (featured here last Easter). 

Snoopy XV

Snoopy returning for his 15th solo appearance! This time as a surprise figure from 2009 by BIP candy and toys, a Dutch confectionery and toy company. Check the Peanuts tag for more Snoopy!

 

Snoopy XIII

Snoopy (or presumably Joe Cool since he has sunglasses) cruising along at top speed. He's got a UFS marking on his back but I'm unable to find any further info on him.

 

Shamu

Shamu, Seaworld's killer whale, seen here riding a skateboard somehow. Gotta love it. The original Shamu lived at Seaworld from 1965 to her death in 1971. The Shamu name continued for different Orcas until the shows stopped in the 2010s. No date on this guy but anecdotal sources have 1987 & 1989 on similar figures (including a surfing Shamu and a racecar driving Shamu).

 

Skateboard Acrobat II

The Skateboard Acrobat returns, this time in cat form (you can be forgiven thinking this might be a fox or dog). I'm not sure what other animals might be out here in the skateboard acrobat or action animal lines, but so far we've seen a giraffe, rabbit, dog, & mouse.
