Phinneas

Phinneas from Boo Hollow. This is from series 3 of the Paka Paka surprise capsules from Funko released in 2022. There is also a full-size Funko Pop figure that is nearly identical (except larger). Check out that tombstone skateboard shape!

Gnarly Norman

Gnarly Norman is one of three figures put out by ARC in the '80s or '90s under the title "Skateboard Monsters." The other two are Hip Hop Harry and Twisted Tommy.

Universal Monsters

This line of Universal Monsters, from Little Big Heads, came out in 1999. I have no explanation why only the Mummy is wearing protective gear. I would've liked to see the Bride of Frankenstein included here.

Honey Monster

The Honey Monster is the mascot of Sugar Puffs (now branded Honey Monster Puffs), a UK cereal apparently similar to Honey Smacks or Golden Crisp, two cereals I don't think I have ever tried. He's seen here in pencil topper form.

Funny Monsters

This collection of Funny Monsters is from Mon Desir, another Italian company that puts out surprise eggs. I guess that is a big thing there. Anywho, one of the Funny Monsters skates and rides with his tongue low enough to be in danger of running over it. You can see the rest of the group below. From 2007.

Dracula

Here to wish you a Happy Halloween from BPA is Dracula or some other vampire high-stepping on a skateboard with a tombstone on the back. It's also got some unusual fenders going on in the back as well as pull-back action. This guy is from 1991 and says Spearhead on the bottom but I can't find any further info on him.

Edit: Found his partner in package! This is from a 1993 Creepy Creatures set.

Cookie Monster II

When we last left Cookie Monster he was pushing pretty hard. He returns to BPA rolling with a full jar of cookies that he is shuffling like a deck of cards. This guy has no date on him and he is looking a bit more green than blue due to some sun damage. He is a bit cheaper than most figures (hollow plastic rather than PVC). I can't find any info on him but I think he is probably from the '90s.

Thrust

Thrust were a late '80s punk band from Gold Coast, Australia. This 7" was self-released and does not have a date of release on it (nor can I find much info online). They released 2 LPs, 1 in '88 and another in '89 so I think this 7" was released around then. The band plays some poppy riffs and has a bit of a Hard-Ons feel, and according to the description in the youtube video below the drummer was in a band called The Dead Rats which eventually morphed into the Hard-Ons. This cover has a lot going on, but a monster playing guitar while riding a spiked-wheeled skateboard with flaming exhaust through space is pretty rad.

Rosita, la Monstrua de las Cuevas

Rosita is a Spanish-speaking muppet from Sesame Street. She was introduced in 1991, long after my Sesame Street watching days were over. This figure is from 2011 and was sold in a 2-pack entitled "Skating Friends" which also included a rollerskating Abby Cadabby (a muppet that wasn't introduced until 2006). According to the Muppet Wiki, Rosita was originally a fruit bat but later redesigned as a muppet monster.

Cookie Monster

Cookie Monster pushing hard, probably cruising down to the bakery. This figure has a surprisingly realistic pose (especially considering you rarely see Cookie Monster below the waist). He also has a proportional sized deck. I think he's riding those old non-reversible rat bones.

Edit: Found a source stating that this is part of set released by Shell gas stations in the mid-80s.
