Homies are a series of 2" figures based on Chicano characters (although they have since branched out into characters of other backgrounds). The first series came out in 1997 and was sold in gumball machines. When they first appeared there was a fair amount of controversy over stereotypes and the glorification of gang life. This has since died down a bit as the artist added more characters and created backstories. This dude's name is Hard Rock and he is from series 4 which was put out in 2002. From Beyond Possession to Homies and beyond, the glorification of a skater's life continues.
